Australia: BOC opens its first public access LNG refueling station in Tarcutta

BOC has already opened other LNG refueling stations in Preston, Victoria, while another site is in development in Wetherill Park, NSW. The Tarcutta opening represents a major step towards the implementation of a LNG supply network for trucks along the Hume Highway, where there are more plans to build up natural gas infrastructure.

“Linfox and BOC share the same commitment to driving innovative solutions which make a difference. We are very excited to be partnering with BOC in embracing this new fuel technology for our Hume Highway services,” Linfox’s President Resources & Industrial, Ian Kent, said. “Like BOC, Linfox sees LNG as an important alternative to diesel from a commercial, economic and environmental perspective.”

The new Tarcutta LNG refueling station, which has been designed by BOC to operate as simply and safely as a regular diesel dispenser, is also the first of its kind to be publicly available for any transport operator with an LNG equipped vehicle, reported Transport and Logistics News, alongside other country’s specialized media.

BOC General Manger for LNG Alex Dronoff stated that the Tarcutta station was the “latest example of company’s cutting-edge LNG innovation”. He also explained that the fueling site customers will be able to refuel the same quantity in half the time in comparison with diesel.
