The refueling site was officially inaugurated yesterday by Adpo, which is a logistics service provider in the Port of Antwerp, in Waaslandhaven, Kallo. Adpo has already bought ten liquefied natural gas powered trucks, although the company expects to replace its whole 50-vehicle fleet with LNG powered models. The construction of the terminal involved an investment of €1 million
“A 100 kilometer operation costs €36.40 when using diesel, whereas using LNG only costs €27 euros the same travel,” says Filip De Dijcker, managing director of Adpo. “The ten hybrid trucks cost €1.2 million, but the payback period is four years.”
In addition, Adpo acquired five vans that run on CNG; these vehicles can refuel at the new site as well.
The LNG station is located at Adpo premises but it is operated by LNG Drive.
