According to Xiamen Bus Group, the first batch of these buses was put into service in Xiamen this month. The new vehicles feature larger passenger capacity, high safety performance and low emissions, reported local newspaper What’s On Xiamen.
The buses will cover route 10 and run between Wushipu Oil Painting Village and Lundu Bus Terminal, with the first bus departing from the Terminal at 5:45 am and the last service stopping there at 11:10 pm.
The LNG takes up about 1/600th the volume of natural gas in its gaseous state. It is odorless, colorless, non-toxic and non-corrosive, and can reduce hazardous gas emissions by 10 tons annually. Besides, an LNG bus can run between 400 and 500 kilometers with a full tank.
Moreover, in early June this year, another batch of new double decker buses was put into operation, running between the Lundu Ferry Terminal and the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.
