The vessel will be of VARD PSV-06 LNG design. It will be powered by four Dual Fuel engines using LNG as prime energy source, offering 20% lower CO2 emissions, about 80% reduction of NOx emissions and close to 100% reduction in SOx emissions. Møkster has 10 years of experience with operation of DF engines and expects to deliver the ship by the summer of 2014.
“We are very pleased and proud to be awarded this contract, which is in line with our strategy of growing in the Barents area. We have, in cooperation with Vard, designed a new vessel that we are sure will meet the expectations of Eni and play an important role in the Goliat operations,” commented Anne Jorunn Møkster, CEO of Simon Møkster Shipping AS.
