“Today is the starting point for LNG utilization for vehicles. Starting with the operational fleet of Badak NGL, we expect to set the sample wider usage in the future, both in the transportation sector and household sector. Pertamina is committed to developing required infrastructure for the successful LNG utilization for domestic use in the future,” said president director of Pertamina, Karen Agustiawan.
During commissioning stage, expected to begin on December 1st, a total of four Indominco’s inpit dump trucks will be using LNG at an estimated fuel demand of about 60 MMbtud. When fully implemented, there will be about 84 LNG-powered high dump trucks, consuming around 3.97 Bbtud.
To boost LNG market potential, supporting infrastructure will be required and development of LNG stations in some parts of Indonesia will depend on other Pertamina projects.
