The trucks will be operated by LC3, an Italian company specializing in the transport of isothermal containers and committed to the use of alternative fuel vehicles to reduce the environmental impact of its operations, said the company owned by CNH Industrial Group in a statement.
The delivery of the five Stralis Natural Power trucks, which have a range of over 750 kilometers, took place during the inauguration of the first LNG fueling station in Italy, located in Piacenza. This model is manufactured exclusively at Iveco’s plant in Madrid, reports Europa Press.
In its standard configuration, the AT440S33T/P LNG model is equipped with a 525-liter LNG tank and four 70-liter CNG cylinders. Natural gas, which is stored in liquid state at a temperature of -130°C and a pressure of 9 bars, turns into gas before being injected into the engine. Refueling is also very simple and can be performed in less than five minutes.
The station’s opening ceremony was attended by, Federico Gaiazzi, commercial CEO of Iveco Italy, who stressed the company’s commitment to research and technological innovations that support environmental and economic sustainability of their customers.
