“We are excited over the fact that our vessel will commence a contract from the time of delivery. It is delightful to see another operator on the shelf start using LNG-powered supply vessels. For us it is satisfactory to be in the position to offer a vessel of the highest quality to a fast developing operator with an exciting future,” said Eidesvik CEO Jan Fredrik Meling.
Viking Prince is the fifth Eidesvik vessel that is fueled by natural gas, and represents a new generation of environmentally-friendly platform service vessels (PSV) with great emphasis on fuel economy and large capacities both below and on deck. In addition, the LNG dual fuel engines ensure low emissions of NOx (85% reduction) and CO2 (25% reduction).
The original contract was firm for four drilling wells, with charterer’s option for another six wells. At the time Viking Prince commences the contract, Lundin is near the completion of the second well.
