It is not the first investment made by Solbus and Gazprom into the development of the eco-friendly transportation in Poland. In October, the companies launched the project of supplying 11 LNG-powered buses to the city of Olsztyn.
“Natural gas is becoming increasingly important as a fuel for public transportation, since it provides clear economic benefits and reduces significantly emissions. Consequently we want to convince more customers of the attractiveness of natural gas as a motor fuel together with our polish partner Solbus”, said Timo Vehrs, Director of Business Development of Gazprom Germania.
Introducing LNG to public transportation in Poland is an element of the wider European strategy supported by Gazprom Group towards a more eco-friendly, safer and economically attractive mobility based on natural gas.
