Over 1,300 vessels have used the LNG terminal at Zeebrugge since it was established in 1987. Operated by Fluxys, the terminal is a major gateway in the supply of LNG to northwest Europe. The facilities provide buffer storage tanks allowing LNG to be regasified and distributed into Belgium’s national grid system and beyond including to the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Luxemburg, France and southern Europe.
With the construction of this second jetty, Port of Zeebrugge continues to evolve into a hub for the supply of LNG as a fuel for ships and long-distance haulage trucks.
