The Rolls-Royce LNG-fueled Bergen marine engine fleet has reached a major milestone accumulating over 20 million running hours. Currently, there are about 42 Bergen LNG-fueled marine engines in service with more on order.
The Bergen B35:40 Gas sets new standards in power and efficiency in the 720-750rpm class with exceptionally low emissions of NOx, CO2, SOx and particulates meeting IMO Tier III. It is compact and powerful with world class low energy consumption and optimum response to all engine loads. It can operate as single propulsion engine coupled to gear using gas.
Turbochargers with variable turbine geometry (VTG) deliver precise airflow and the solid-state ignition with individual cylinder timing and diagnostics ensures optimum efficiency. Classed for mechanical propulsion L9, V12 and V16 cylinder versions are available with powers from 3,780kW – 7,000kW.
The Bergen engines are supported worldwide by the Rolls-Royce global service network, and a range of tailored maintenance packages are available, including service exchange modules. The goal is to keep clients’ vessels profitable and their investments protected.
