“Our experience has shown that fuel cost savings can reach 30%, representing a guarantee of competitiveness against the competition,” added the owner of Castellon-based company, which operates four natural gas trucks and its own fueling station supplying LNG and CNG.
The new truck is equipped with a 9 liter natural gas engine featuring 305cv, five-cylinder Otto cycle, separate spark plugs and ignition coils for each cylinder, Allison fully automatic transmission with torque converter and a retarder. LNG tanks are manufactured with insulation that keeps gas at cryogenic temperature (-100 to -196º C). The 460-liter capacity allows a range of up to 600 km, with a second (optional) tank on the right side offering a range of up to 1,100 km.
According to Transportes Monfort, the fact that manufacturers like Scania have this green technology can allow the company to move forward in terms of energy innovation, reaffirming its support to natural gas as a transportation fuel.
