Moreover, this partnership expects to open the first LCNG private station, including storage and distribution, in April this year in Castets (Landes), near the logistics base of Intermarché Sud-Ouest (subsidiary of Les Mousquetaires). It will mainly service natural gas-powered truck fleets in its compressed form (200 bars) and in its liquefied form (-160°).
During 2014, the station, which will be operated by Gas Natural Fenosa, will support ten Iveco Stralis owned by Intermarché but the scalability of the facility is planned to reach the refueling of 40 Iveco NGVs within three years. Thus, the French supermarket will be able to deliver its goods in its southwestern points of sales with an ecological and social footprint significantly improved.
The launching took place in November and was attended by Patrick Mendy, CEO of Transport P. Mendy; Sebastien Gilbert, head of Sud-Ouest ITM LAI (food logistics subsidiary of Les Mousquetaires); Jean-François Daubonne, Europe’s commercial director of Gas Natural Fenosa; Arnaud Bilek, general director of Consoptima; and Clément Chandon, product director of Iveco France.
